Photosynthetic photon flux (PPF)

Photosynthetic photon flux (PPF), abbreviated as PPF, is the amount of photon flux that can be used by plants for photosynthesis. The unit is: micromole per second (μmol-s-1).

Note: In the context of plant physiology, the quantity of photons is usually expressed in micromoles (μmol), with 1 μmol representing 6.023 × 1017 photons and 1 mol representing 6.023 × 1023 photons.

The photochemical reactions of photosynthesis are closely related to the number of absorbed photons; for example, photons in the blue light region have about twice the energy of those in the red light region, but photons in both regions have the same effect in photosynthesis.

Therefore, in photosynthesis, the amount of light is expressed as the number of photons in a certain wave factory range (400-700 nm), which is called the photosynthetic photon flux. Note: This is equivalent to the concept of conventional lighting luminous flux.

Photosynthetic photon flux efficiency (PPE)

1, photosynthetic photon flux efficiency abbreviated as EFF (PPF) or PPE.

2, indicates that the artificial radiation light source in the range of 400-700NM, the effective number of micromoles per watt per second light source radiation, its unit is umol/s/w or umol/J.

3,Photosynthetic photon flux efficiency = photosynthetic photon flux/power
Note: equivalent to the concept of conventional lighting products luminous efficiency, the current professional high-power plant lamps and lanterns focus on the spectral and efficiency values of lamps and lanterns, according to the U.S. DLC standard photosynthetic photon flux efficiency EFF (PPF)≥1.9μmol/(-5%).

Photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD)

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) abbreviated as PPFD, is the number of micro moles per square meter per second radiated from a light source in umol/㎡, is the concept of density.

PPFD is expressed in PPF in the range of one square meter. 1umol/m means 1 micro mol of photons per second in the wavelength range of 400-700NM
The number of radiation on a surface of 1 square meter. It is equivalent to the concept of illuminance of conventional lighting products.
Note: Equivalent to the concept of illuminance of conventional lighting products.
